Lois and Frank Northrup have been active members of the Brentwood Historical Society for decades. Many of us have interacted with Lois at programs, open houses, and as the emissary of deposits and checks for the BHS Treasurer, which Frank was for many years. We mourn with Lois’ family in their time of grief.
Lois Marie Northrup, 83, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, surrounded by love. Born on January 31, 1943, in Miami, Florida, Lois moved with her family to Kensington, New Hampshire, in July of 1958. She graduated from Exeter High School in June of 1961 and later that year, in November, married her high school sweetheart, Frank Edward Northrup Sr. Together they built a life rooted in love, sharing 64 years of marriage.
Lois and Frank made their home in Brentwood, New Hampshire, where they raised their three children. Lois worked for the Exeter District Court for over 20 years before retiring.
Above all, Lois was devoted to her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Edward Northrup Sr.; her daughters Louann (Northrup) Wilson and her husband Steve Wilson of Nottingham, NH, and Tressa (Northrup) Bickford and her husband Timothy Bickford of North Hampton, NH; and her son Frank Edward Northrup Jr. and his wife Cheryl Northrup of Auburn, NH.
She was a proud grandmother to Sydney Marie Wilson and her fiancé Adam Pride, Jacob Arthur Northrup, Gabriel Edward Northrup, Kai M. Bickford, and Lucy Q. Bickford, each of whom brought her great joy. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Smith of Alabama, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Lois will be remembered for her deep love for her family, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her memory lives on in the home she built, the family she nurtured, and the many lives she touched.
Services will be held at Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, NH, on January 17, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. (603-772-2501).
