Support the Brentwood Historical Society

As an all volunteer 501(C)3 organization, the Brentwood Historical Society depends on memberships and donations for its work of preserving the history of the town.  There are many ways you can support this work.

Membership

The Brentwood Historical Society invites you become a member.  An individual membership is $15.00 a year, a family membership is $25.00 a year, and an individual lifetime membership is $200.00.  Businesses or institutions may join at $25.00 a year.  Members receive the Society’s newsletter, notice of special events and exhibits, and an invitation to the annual meeting. More details and the membership application form can be found here.

Volunteering

From time to time the Society can use help with projects such as sorting documents and books, creating and labeling files, cleaning, repairing, moving exhibit cases and collection pieces, and special events.

Donations

Monetary donations are welcome and are used to purchase paper, printer ink, museum quality storage boxes, acid-free folders, and other supplies to help the Society care for the collection.

Donations to the Collections

The Historical Society is pleased to receive offers of items for the collection.  Consideration is given to items that have a direct relation to Brentwood, are in good condition, are not duplicative, and can be properly cared for.  The Musuem Committee will consider the following criteria from the Society’s policy when reviewing an offer of a donation:

  • the item’s relevance to and consistency with the purposes of the Society
  • the free and clear title of the item
  • the item’s freedom from restrictions as to its use or future disposition
  • the Society’s ability to properly care for the item
  • the condition of the item
  • the Society’s intention to use the item in the foreseeable future

At this time the Society is unable to accept donations of furniture due to storage constraints.

To discuss donations, please call the museum at 603-642-8944.  We thank you for thinking of the Society!
