Born in Boston, Jonathan Harrington (1811-1881) performed professionally as a magician, ventriloquist, and human salamander for well over fifty years. Based in New England, he traveled throughout the United States for 1826 up until a month or so before he died in 1881.
In this humanities presentation, award-winning performer and presenter, Andrew Pinard, will immerse attendees in the world of entertainment from the nineteenth century, share stories of Harrington’s remarkable career, and possibly even bring to life a wonder or mystery as Professor Harrington with the assistance of audience members.
Come learn the history and experience a taste of the magic.
