African-American Soldiers and Sailors of New Hampshire During the American Revolution

The Brentwood Historical Society is pleased to welcome author and New Hampshire Humanities speaker, Glenn Knoblock who will tell us the story of the many African-Americans who fought in the Continental Army and served on the high seas against the British in the Revolutionary War. He will explore how and why these men enlisted, their interactions with the white soldiers, their service on the battlefields, how they were perceived by the enemy and the officers under whom they served, and their treatment after the war.
